Stand up and be counted...

Go say Hey to Blah3

"I've been really disgusted with the Democrats lately. I don't know why they feel like they have to act like Republicans in order to keep the vote."

my 80 year old Mother

Flimflammer

"Trust me," he said. "I know what's best for you."
And for some strange reason people believed him,
Though he'd never seen anything through
To fruition, leaving unfinished disasters in his wake.

"Trust me," he said. "My way is the only way."
And for some strange reason people extolled him,
Though he'd led them completely astray;
Like mesmerized lemmings they followed, for 9/11's sake.

"Trust me," he said. "The world's next great leader is me."
And for some strange reason people envisioned with him
That his 'great deeds' would be revered for all posterity,
Yet, the facade slowly crumbled as they realized what was at stake.

Or did they? Or did they follow him in fear,
Abandoning the very principles
that they claimed to hold so dear?
Allowing intimidations of the Republican Dictate

(or was it the Republican Guard?) to rule the voice of the Senate,
Squelch those in the House; "Don't want to 'rock the boat'", they said;
Cowering like a mouse in the corner became their tenet,
As they allowed their confidence to shake.

"Trust me," he said. "I know what's best for you."
And for some strange reason people believed him,
Even though it wasn't true --
And somehow they never realized that he was only on the take.

tristero sez

You should have seen the one that got away.

With my pole, and my line

uggabugga shares Bush's greatest moment:

"Fishin' Accomplished"

When you're weary, feelin' small...

Remember.

Could be worse.
